FY 24-25 Proposed Budget Released
Cross Walk Signs Installed
New Crosswalk Coming (TBD)
New crosswalk signs were installed at the intersections of Liftbridge Lane at North Main Street in October 2023 and Perrin Street at West Church St. in December 2023. These crosswalks have on-demand beacon light signals for pedestrians to alert traffic to a crossing. Please push the button on the signs to activate the light.
Engineering work continues on the planned crosswalk further to the west on West Church Street. Due to issues with elevation and infrastructure, the planned location has moved from Nelson/Hulburt closer to Briggs Avenue. Updates will be shared once engineering plans are closer to completion.
Safe School Crossings
The Fairport Police Department in working in conjunction with the New York State DOT to improve pedestrian crossing at the intersection of State Route 250 and Hulburt Road. The DOT has changed the timing of the light to give more time for pedestrian crossings. The FPD has ordered lighted stop signs for school crossing guards at that location with a goal of better driver awareness of students crossing.
As always, please drive carefully through the Village.
We want our Village to be the most walkable community in New York State.

Zoning Code Update Project
The Village will begin a comprehensive Zoning Code Update in 2024. The overview of the project was discussed at the January 22nd Village Board Work Session meeting.
Village Planner, Jill Wiedrick, will work together with village residents serving on the Zoning, Planning and Historic Preservation boards along with consultant, Fisher Associates, on the update.
There will be opportunities for Village residents and business owners to share input and feedback with the project team during the project.
For more information about the project and the community engagement plan, visit the Zoning Code Update 2024 page or follow the link in the project section of the Village of Fairport website home page.
